Designing a Film-Quality Fish Bust with ZBrush and Keyshot

In this course we will start by using a very basic mesh to create a unique and film-quality model in ZBrush. We'll learn to use a 2D sketch painted in Photoshop as a reference for fleshing out the main shapes of the 3D sculpt. Will will cover a mix of speed sculpting techniques in order to achieve a detailed surface without adding too many details, and will eventually focus more on the texturing side, using real photos and hand painting to create an extremely detailed texture map in ZBrush using Spotlight and some hand painting. Finally - we'll learn to bridge the gap by brining the sculpt into Keyshot and create a quick shading and cinematic light setup to create a film quality oceanic monster.
Your Instructor
Fabrizio is a game designer, writer, creature designer, concept artist and illustrator. He has worked on films such as Kill Bill, District 9, Silent Hill, Narnia 3, Underworld: Evolution, Piranha 3D, commercials at Origami Digital, based in Hollywood, video games such as Plants VS Zombies Garden Warfare CGI trailer (as the lead designer), the Siren franchise, Silent Hills (now cancelled) and more.
He can be found working on (and has contributed to) several indie horror games both as story writer and monster designer (Paranoid, Visage, Agony Unrated, Forgotten Memories Director's Cut, Lunacy: Saint Rhodes, The Conjuring House, Home Sweet Home 2 and more) as well as some unannounced triple A sci-fi and horror games for PC, PS4 Pro and Xbox One as a freelance artist. Plus, working with Neill Blomkamp, Weta Digital/Workshop, Sony Japan, Namco, Production IG, several Oculus VR games and more, Fabrizio has been able to acquire a steely expertise in the professional entertainment world he is so passionate about.
Moreover, he has taught in various universities (Tokyo, Italy etc) both traditional and digital work for the film industry. Currently he is working on a top secret next-gen survival horror videogame as writer and game designer.
